AVIRE Summit Showcases Practical Innovation in Lift Safety and Connectivity

⏱️ Calculating reading time…

AVIRE recently hosted its first Product & Innovation Summit at our manufacturing facility in České Budějovice, Czechia, bringing together more than 50 colleagues from the UK, Spain, Czechia and the US.

Building for Tomorrow, Delivering Today

Under the theme “Building for Tomorrow, Delivering Today”, the summit explored how AVIRE continues to support lift professionals with reliable, compliant solutions while preparing for the next generation of safety and connectivity requirements.

Peter Beattie, Vice President, Product & Innovation at AVIRE, commented:

“At AVIRE, we aim to delight our customers by delivering simple, secure and compliant solutions that keep people safe in an emergency. That mission is being tested by rising cyber threats, shifting regulation and the accelerating pace of change across networks and connectivity. Our responsibility is to absorb that complexity and turn it into clarity and confidence for installers, maintainers and building owners.

The purpose of this summit was to ground that future in practical reality. By bringing engineering, manufacturing and field expertise together on the shop floor, we pressure-tested emerging technologies against real-world constraints, installation practices and lifecycle demands. This is how we ensure innovation translates into products that work first time, remain resilient in service and prepare our customers for what comes next.”

From the Factory Floor to the Future of In-Building Safety

Much of the programme took place directly on the shop floor, where cross-functional teams walked production lines and assembled products alongside local operators. This first-hand collaboration highlighted how design and process decisions influence installation time, product reliability and total lifecycle cost. The insights gained are being channelled into enhancements that will make AVIRE solutions even easier to install, simpler to maintain and more robust in service.

The summit also explored how in-building safety and the future of work may evolve over the next decade — from the impact of new regulations to the increasing role of data and remote connectivity. These discussions are helping shape AVIRE’s product roadmap to ensure that future solutions support safer, smarter and more efficient buildings.

What This Means for the Lift Industry

The summit reflects a broader shift within the lift industry as safety and communication technologies move from standalone devices to connected, data-driven platforms. By strengthening the link between product design, manufacturing and field experience, AVIRE is helping contractors and OEMs respond faster to regulatory change, reduce downtime through enhanced diagnostics, and deliver a more reliable passenger experience.
