- Systems shall provide communication in each required location with hands-free communication devices (2400 Series Call Boxes) and central control point or fire command center (Command Center Base Stations)
- Emergency communication systems require 24/7 monitoring. If the central control point (Command Center Base Stations) is not a constantly attended location, the system shall have a timed automatic dial-out capability to an off-site monitoring or 911
- All pathways between the remote call stations and the master control station shall be monitored for integrity. (360° Supervision)
Pathway survivability requirements state all circuits remain survivable (2 Hour Fire-Rated Cable) for at least the same time as the fire rating of the building - Primary/Secondary (Power Supply) must be monitored for the presence of voltage. Battery back-up power must be capable of operating on stand-by for 24 hours and subsequently for a period of 4 hours of system activation
- Systems shall also include both audible and visible signals (Signage)
