Overview

RATH® RF surge protection and grounding products help protect critical RF infrastructure within the Integrated Public Safety DAS from lightning-induced surges, electrical transients, and fault currents. The portfolio includes an RF surge protector (AV000005) for safeguarding connected equipment and a grounding kit (AV000003) that provides a dedicated path for fault and lightning currents from coaxial cable installations.

Designed for reliable integration into RF infrastructure, these components combine high surge-handling capabilities with durable construction for demanding installations. The AV000005 maintains signal performance with low insertion loss, while the AV000003 provides a corrosion-resistant, IP68-rated connection for 1/2″ coaxial and hybrid cables.

Surge Protection

Protects RF equipment from lightning-induced surges.

RF Surge Protector handles up to 50 kA.
Low let-through energy helps protect downstream electronics.

Reliable Grounding

Provides a path for fault and lightning currents.
6 AWG copper ground lead.
Rated for lightning surge currents up to 100,000 A.
Tin-plated copper construction provides a durable connection.

RF Performance

Surge Protector supports frequencies from 125–1000 MHz.
Low 0.1 dB insertion loss helps maintain signal strength.
50 Ω impedance supports RF system integration.
1.1:1 VSWR supports efficient signal transmission.

Installation

Clip-on Grounding Kit simplifies installation.
Pre-formed clamp helps prevent over-tightening.
N-Female surge protector connections simplify integration.
Grounding Kit includes hardware and sealing materials.

Environmental Protection

Grounding Kit features IP68-rated sealing.
Corrosion-resistant materials support outdoor use.
Grounding Kit operates from -40°F to 185°F.
Surge Protector operates from -58°F to 122°F.
