As the Compliance Standards & Market Education Manager, Life Safety, you will build and execute strategies that drive preference among key influencers, including engineers, architects and fire marshals. Success requires close collaboration with marketing and strong, two-way alignment with the sales organization. Key responsibilities include active engagement with state fire associations, deep curiosity about customer needs, and the ability to leverage data and market insights to drive sustained segment growth. What you will do:

In this role, you will develop and execute strategies that drive preference and specification for the Life Safety portfolio across key influencer segments. Success requires hands-on engagement with customers, technology, and industry stakeholders.

1. Drive specification and acceptance with Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs)

a. Build deep expertise in relevant codes, standards and the Life Safety portfolio

b. Increase enforcement of Two-Way Communication solutions and secure approvals for ERCES portfolio across AHJs and radio license holders

c. Engage with laggard states to accelerate adoption and enforcement of relevant codes and standards

d. Act as a thought leader with state fire marshal associations through active participation and conference speaking engagements

2. Anticipate and respond to changing market dynamics

a. Stay ahead of evolving requirements through strong engagement with industry and state fire associations

b. Partner closely with the North America Sales Manager to proactively embed market changes into sales strategies

c. Through effective use of internal and external tools, identify new market segments for growth and build effective strategy for execution

3. Scale customer engagement through an effective content strategy

a. Develop a one-to-many content strategy in partnership with marketing and key stakeholders

b. Leverage market and sales data to increase architect and engineer specifications and drive above-market growth.

    Performance Objectives

    1. Sales and profit goals are met or exceeded for the Life Safety business in the Americas.
    2. Year over year specification rates are met or exceeded.
    3. New market strategies deliver yearly objectives for leads and sales.
    4. Thought leadership engagements are driving growth of new products and solutions.
    5. Market insights are resulting in sales to new customers and competitive conversions.
    6. Changing market dynamics are proactively fed into company leadership to inform shifts to strategy.
    7. Key activities and opportunities are tracked in SalesForce or appropriate tool to be leveraged by the wider business.

    Job Skills

    • Demonstrated experience developing and executing market or segment strategies
    • Strong understanding of customer ecosystems and influencer dynamics
    • Experience working in regulated or standards-driven markets (strongly preferred)
    • Ability to translate market insight into scalable programs and positioning
    • Executive communication and stakeholder management skills
    • Experience delivering actionable insights that influence GTM, sales strategy, or roadmap decisions
    • Ability to successfully build cross-functional relationships and influence without authority
    • Effective and engaging public speaking and presentation skills
    • Comfort with ambiguity
    • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills to work effectively with diverse groups of people both within, and outside, of the organization
    • Experience with SalesForce and Power BI
    • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Sales, Engineering, and/or a related field or equivalent experience
    • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in sales, marketing, product or market development roles with experience beyond direct account ownership
    • Access to primary metropolitan hubs in the United States
    • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
