検出器のLED(発光ダイオード)は交換できません。

In multi-door lifts, we advise that installers arrange the two detector sets so as to minimise the potential for cross-talk between the two. In cases when the doors are adjacent to one another, install the two Transmitter (TX) edges at the same corner of the lift. In cases where the doors are on opposite sides of the lift, install the two TX edges at diagonally opposite corners of the lift.

What is the diagnostic output for?

This is a second, independent output that works in parallel to the detector trigger output. Under EN81-20 standards, a 50mm object must be detected within the detection zone at all times – any breach of this must result in the doors going into a low energy mode if the lift is to remain in use. A blocked or damaged diode may create a gap within which a 50mm object will not be detected, so timeout of this diode may not be seen as EN81-20 compliant. Rather than allowing a single diode blockage to cause a permanent trigger, the diagnostic output can trigger the door’s low energy mode and put the blocked diode in timeout mode. The remaining diodes can operate as normal, the lift can continue to be used, and the detection remains EN81-20 compliant.

Misalignment between edges

Avire detectors are designed to account for some misalignment between the detector pairs. This is both angular and lateral. It is always advised, however, that the two edges are aligned as well as possible during installation to maximise the system’s sensitivity.

When do I need to use a power supply or controller?

The Pana40+ and Panachrome products must be used with a controller. This helps with configuration during installation, and with diagnostics when fault-finding. The E-Series may be wired in directly to the door controller, or via a power supply box at the installer’s discretion. The power supply contains a relay for the trigger output and also can be used to convert mains AC voltage into DC for the detector.

What is timeout mode?

When a diode is permanently triggered, timeout mode allows the edge to disable it and to operate with the remaining diodes as normal. This avoids damaged or blocked diodes from causing a permanent trigger. The top and bottom diodes cannot be deactivated with timeout mode, neither can more than five diodes or any two adjacent diodes – in these cases, the detector remains in permanent trigger. Note that the EN81-20 standard can be interpreted as not being compatible with timeout mode enabled. Avire’s products can use a second, diagnostic output in combination with timeout to remain compatible.

What is auto beam disabling (ABD)?

In lifts when the door opening mechanism extends down into the detection zone, this feature was used to deactivate diodes near the top of the Transmitting and Receiving edges. This feature has largely been made redundant by the EN81-20 standards, as this defines the detection zone as reaching at least to 1600mm from the door sill. Diodes should no longer be deactivated below this threshold.

Static and dynamic mounting

The Pana40+ and the E-Series products may be mounted either dynamically on the lift doors or statically on the lift chassis. These products are versatile and designed for use in any installation. The Panachrome and Pana40+ 3D products, however, are designed for dynamic installation at the edge of the doors in order to maximise the impact of the 3D protection and visual indicators. Dynamic installations may be challenging in lifts where the door return is not deep enough to mount the light curtains – in this case fixing clamps can be used. Avire also supply a range of static fixing kits that attach to the door sill. Once installed, it is straightforward to replace the detectors in the future, even when working on your own.

Warranty

All Memco light curtains have a two-year warranty period as standard, as per Avire’s Terms and Conditions of sale. All TL Jones light curtains have a one-year warranty period as standard. These are fixed unless otherwise stated.

Is Pana40 Plus compliant to EN81-20?

Yes, Pana40 Plus is compliant to EN81-20.

Can I purchase Pana40 Plus detector strips at different heights?

No, but if you do have a requirement please contact our team to discuss what we can do to help.

How does a light curtain work?

Each light curtain set contains a Transmitting edge (TX) and a Receiving edge (RX). The TX contains an array of Infra-red LEDs which illuminate in sequence, and the RX contains a corresponding array of photoelectric diodes tuned to the LEDs' frequency. These receive light in sequence generating either a parallel or a diagonal beam pattern. When an object blocks one of the beams, the RX sends a trigger signal to the door controller, and the doors reopen.

Are light curtains affected by sunlight?

Avire’s light curtains are designed to minimise the potential interference from sunlight. Infra-red radiation from any source of light may interfer with the receiving diodes, and this normally sets the maximum limit to the operating range of the light curtain. In installations where the door width is outside the specified range and where there are many sources of light, including sunlight, light curtain performance may deteriorate.

Multi-door installations

In multi-door lifts, we advise that installers arrange the two detector sets so as to minimise the potential for cross-talk between the two. In cases when the doors are adjacent to one another, install the two Transmitter (TX) edges at the same corner of the lift. Replacing with E-Series on Elite installations

When replacing an existing Elite product with an E-Series, follow the schematic below depending on the installed Elite's polarity. You can tell the polarity from the existing wiring or from the part number of the existing product – part numbers for the Elite contain 080 for NPN-N/C, 090 for NPN-N/O, 180 for PNP-N/C and 190 for PNP-N/O. An E-Series replacement product can be used to replace any installed Elite.

Is E-Series compliant to EN81-20?

There are versions of E-Series which are compliant to EN81-20. These include E10 36, E40 36, E10 40 and E40 40.

DCP(デジタル・コミュニケーション・プラットフォーム)

Where is the DCP installed?

The DCP should always be mounted in the machine room or at the top of the lift shaft in a MRL installation.

How do I program the DCP?

All programming for the system is either carried out remotely from the Avire Hub or at the main unit in the machine room or control cabinet.

How do I connect the audio units in the car or pit?

Digital Audio Units in the lift cars and/or pits connect to the DCP over a 4 wire CAN Bus system. All technical and configuration calls are sent over the data channel of the cellular network, reducing voice call costs and significantly improving reliability.

What other Avire devices can be connected to the DCP outside of emergency communication?

The Lift HAWK can be connected to the DCP which enables remote testing of the lift. Connected Panachrome+ can also be connected which allows remote monitoring of the performance of the light curtains. See the Smart Elevators page for more information.

Is the DCP compliant to EN81-28?

Yes, the DCP is compliant with EN81-28 when installed with its accessories and monitored via the Avire Hub.

What are the benefits over using GSM rather than a landline?

1) Cost Monthly line rental on a fixed business landline will vary by operator and country, but we usually see between €30 Euros to €60 Euros a month. By comparison, typical SIM packages for GSM/GPRS devices are 50% to 75% less expensive. Over the lifespan of a typical device the running costs of GSM/GPRS devices can be several hundred Euros lower than with landline. 2) Time to Install A cellular device can be installed by any lift engineer and activated immediately. The lift company is therefore no longer reliant on the telecommunications company to provide the landline installation, often not available in new builds or sites under construction, and rarely routed close to the machine room. 3) Data (also see below section on 'Data v DTMF') GSMs which support a data channel allow digital information transfer from the lift installation back to a remote monitoring platform. Data is more reliable than analogue communication types (e.g. DTMF) and allows a greater variety of devices to be connected.

What's the benefit of data vs DTMF?

1) Reliability DTMF transfer was developed in the early 1960s for transferring information over telephone landlines. Cellular networks implemented DTMF in order to support legacy telephone hardware, however cellular networks compress the DTMF tones which can lead to distorted tone snot being recognised by receiver equipment. Each generation of cellular technology had provided a lower level of support for DTMF. DTMF is increasingly seen as a legacy technology and it is forecast that support for the DTMF transfer will be withdrawn at some point in the future (dates vary by region and telecoms provider). In contrast data is an increasingly important part of our interconnected world and providers continue to invest in this area.

Is Memcom+ compliant to EN81-28?

Yes, the Memcom+ is compliant with EN81-28 when installed with its accessories and monitored via the Avire Hub.

Does Memcom still work if the power fails?

When Memcom supply is removed the unit switches on to its battery back-up. To switch Memcom completely off press and hold the # button on the Memcom Keypad until unit switches off.

What is a Guided message?

A guided message is where the Memcom plays a pre-recorded Guidance Message when the operator answers the phone giving them an instruction on how to answer the call. A guidance message is enabled by either ticking this option on the scrolling menu structure .

What is an unguided message?

An unguided message means that no pre-recorded message is played to the operator when the alarm call is picked up and it will open up the two way communication directly. It is enabled by either ticking this option on the scrolling menu structure.

What other Avire devices can be connected to the Memcom+ outside of emergency communication?

The Lift HAWK can be connected to the Memcom+ which enables remote testing of the lift.

What is a Hotline?

‘Hot Dial’ is a specially configured Exchange Feature, where as soon as the phone goes ‘Off Hook’ it automatically dials a pre-configured number. The Memcom automatically tests the phone line periodically; this can automatically cause a call to be made.  In these situations, it is necessary to turn off the Line Monitoring. To enable Hot Dial calling in the Memcom, use **4 as alarm number 1 and turn off line monitoring  this is done by entering Memcom menu, ‘H/W Monitoring’  and un-ticking  phone line or changing option H/W mon 39 to 35 on the earlier model

How can you cancel the call when it is dialling out?

Press and hold the # key, display will show unit resetting and call will end.

What should I do if Memcom is not calling out?

There could be a few reasons for this situation but the most common cause is that the telephone line is not active. Connect the telephone Handset and make a call to check activity of the phone line, it is always advised to call Avire Support on line issues.

The Memcom keeps dialling out when the Alarm button is wired to terminals 9 and 15 on the Memcom. What should I do?

This can be caused by the Alarm button being a Normally Closed contact, this can be changed in the settings (Settings> System Config, select N/C) (default is Normally open). Hotline can also cause this, refer to note on ‘Hot line‘.

Why is the Alarm button not working?

It may be that the Alarm Push Button has not been pressed for long enough. Check Delays> In Car Delay to see what delay has been set. The Default is 3 seconds. Adjust accordingly, but do not set as 0 .

How can I check if the Memcom Alarm contacts are working?

By placing a wire short across Memcom terminals 9 & 15, after 5 seconds the Memcom should dial out. If this does not happen then check in car delay settings and then to make sure door filtering is not used, (Terminal 13 wired on the Memcom) as this will prevent alarm from being triggered, if this is not the call Avire for additional support
